The optional 360 degree swivel pad can be added to RT Models for improved maneuverability. This key feature provides additional rotating and swiveling options in precise machine moving situations. The swivel pad assembly simply mounts through the center hole of the loading plate and is held in place with a simple locking pin. The swivel pad attachment is easily and quickly removed for use of the RT units in the typical configuration. The swivel pad attachment is the same rotating unit that is used on the ST Steerable Skates.

The optional Handle and Eye Hook attachment is also available for all models of the RT Series. The handle and eye hook option facilitates a quicker and sometimes easier method of rolling and controlling a large machine during a move. The handle and eye hook assembly can eliminate the need to exert a pulling or pushing force directly on the large industrial machine that is being transported. The handle is easily attached and removed in seconds with a simple and effective locking pin mechanism.
RT Rotating Series Design Features
360 Degree Caster Rotation
RT Models are designed with easy turning casters which rotate in a full 360 degree circle on two heavy duty tapered roller bearings. The free turning casters provide the highest level of maneuverability for those heavy machine moving jobs that require both precision and rugged tools. The RT caster assembly is shipped free of oil to prevent dust and debris build up. If desired by the user, it is a simple procedure to incorporate some oil lubrication directly into the tapered roller bearings. Keep in mind though, these units are being used at very slow speeds so lubrication is typically not necessary. This keeps the RT units free of dust, debris and gunky buildup preventing an oily work environment.
Recessed Spindle Design
RT Models feature a spindle design that is recessed within the caster assembly. This provides additional clearance under the RT units to give the user maximum floor clearance. Additionally, the RT caster design utilizes a washer/dust cap feature to prevent the buildup of dirt and grime in the bearing housing. The locknut holding the caster assembly together can be accessed with a spanner wrench or similar tool. A custom-made socket that makes removal or adjustment simple and easy can also be supplied. It is important to keep the locknut tightened properly. The locknut needs to hold the caster assembly tight enough so there is no “slap” in the components, but not so tight that the caster rotation is impeded.
Heavy Welded Construction
RT Models are designed with the rugged, demanding industrial rigging world in mind. Each caster bearing spindle is welded on both the top and bottom of the load-carrying plate. The bottom weld provides a solid 5-inch bead which is more than adequate for the rated weight capacity of each RT unit. Additionally, the collared welding design feature provides more room for the caster to clear the underside of the load-carrying plate when rotating. This allows the casters to rotate in the required 360 degree fashion and turn freely in order to give the user the most maneuverability while transporting a heavy machine.
Thick Load-Carrying Plate
RT Models are built with a thick, solid top plate that will literally handle tons of heavy loading. The RT-2 and RT-4 models are built with a 1/2” thick, high-grade steel load-carrying plate, while the RT-6, RT-8 & RT-10 models feature an even beefier 5/8” thick high-grade steel load-carrying plate. The substantial load-carrying plate design offers the user the opportunity to weld custom attachments directly to the surface of the load-carrying plate. This provides the user with tremendous versatility in various industrial machine moving applications. Each RT model’s heavy duty design is perfect for rigging jobs that might require a specialized interface between the load and the load-carrying plate.
Convenient Carrying Handles
RT Models are designed with a built-in carrying handle that provides convenient pinch-free handling. The heavier capacity RT units feature a wider handle that provides a method for two people to carry the units more comfortably and safely. Additionally, when rolling heavy industrial machines, the rugged built in handle provides a place for wrapping chains, cargo straps and other pulling gear that might be necessary to facilitate a successful machine move.
